First I should say I use them both, and honestly with about the same results. I have only recently started using Sedo again.
Biggest Pro.
For me at sedo, its the hit counts. Not sure how Afternic does it, but I get real counts at sedo and lets me see what name has traffic.
At Afternic, its the landing page. They have a “for sale” priced option and I like it best. The fact that it takes you to a godaddy page not a huge fan of.
They both offer the domains on many more sites, like estibot and places like porkbun and dynadot.
Sedo does pay for clicks, but not enough to get excited about. Again its getting better traffic stats means so much more.
I looked at one of my names the other day and I was not impressed with either. Afternic says next year your renewal will be $16 per year, like you have to stay with godaddy(the names aren’t with godaddy).
Sedo gave me an option to buy, nothing else. They have it set up(so the site says) that it will take offers up to a certain percent. I set mine up but didnt see that offer.
I dont like the front page, overall layout on either site
Places like Atom you arent in a group of millions. I’ve used Dan before but wasnt that impressed but did sell a few. Estibot does have a market place, and I have sold some there in the past, but I parked a few there the other day, and got ZERO traffic.
Afternic does have the godaddy appraisal tool in their listing so its nice to get another appraisal though dont give my heed to GD’s tool. That said I sure like it when they say 4k better than 0.
I will continue to place my names for sale at Sedo and afternic. But in the coming weeks I will be listing and parking all my names on my “mydotcoms.com” if the script I plan on buying works.
I’ll update on all three as things happen.
